Food Sense Wales at the Royal Welsh Show 2024
Food Sense Wales will have a presence at Y Farchnad in the Horticulture Village at this year’s Royal Welsh Show .
We’ll have a stand within ‘Y Farchand’ – the Growers’ Marquee – throughout the week sharing more information about the work of Food Sense Wales, food partnerships as well as our pioneering Welsh Veg in Schools project.
Welsh Veg in Schools is a pilot project co-ordinated by Food Sense Wales that aims to get more organically produced Welsh veg into primary school meals across Wales.
Working with partners that include Castell Howell, Farming Connect Horticulture as well as a host of enthusiastic growers, the Welsh Veg in Schools project is helping to get more locally produced organic vegetables into school lunches.
We’ll be hosting daily sessions within Y Farchnad sharing information about the Welsh Veg in Schools project. We’ll also be delivering a session at the Dysgubor on Tuesday, July 23rd at 10.30am within the Horticulture Village that will include contributions from project partners as well as representation from the Future Generations Commissioner’s office.
Katie Palmer from Food Sense Wales will also be taking part in a session on New Markets for Welsh Farming at the Dysgubor on Tuesday, July 23rd at 3pm where she’ll join Duncan Fisher from Our Food 1200 to discuss their experiences of creating new markets and supply chains for Welsh Farmers.
